Dunga spent time at Internacional during his playing career and he replaces Fernandao, who left the club last month after guiding the team to a mid-table finish in the Brasileiro this past season. The 49-year-old Dunga appeared in 91 games for Brazil as a player and captained the side that won the 1994 World Cup. He took charge of Brazil as manager in 2006 and helped the team win the 2007 Copa America and the Confederations Cup in 2009. Dunga stepped down as manager after the 2010 World Cup following Brazil's loss in the quarterfinals to the Netherlands.
